"Wow - a marriage that has lasted that long - Congrats!!! 50 - what a milestone. For gift ideas.....could you plan a trip back to where he was born (This Is Your Life kinda thing).......How about a trip to somewhere he has never been, but would like to go? A romantic getaway in a neighboring city - tell no one where you are - so no interruptions. A surprise party with EVERYONE who knows him showing up or calling - how about getting in touch with old classmates of his from high school, college, etc...and having them send cards or telegrams or just old "I remember you when...." letters."
