I need a really awesome gift idea for boyfriends dad?...

...My boyfriends dad is giving me a car to help me out since mine is currently broken. I really appreciate that he is doing this and I want to repay him. I'm not sure how so any ideas? PS I dont have a lot of money but I want it to be a really great thoughtful gift. Thanks!

"I tell you what... Gift Cards are the best gift. I'm not sure what he likes. But if there's an available gift card to purchase there. Then get it!!! You save time having to go crazy thinking of what to get and the person you get it for can choose what they like. i.e. Wal Mart gift card, etc, etc... Like me.... I love movie theater gift cards!!! Yay! for gift cards!! lol"

Gift Ideas for a 5-6 year old girl?...

...My boyfriends niece is going to be either 5 or 6 (cant remember) next month. I have already decided on a gift card to Toys R Us...but I was thinking that I could get her something more from me. I was thinking maybe a robo dog..does anyone know if kids really like those??
I also thought about a sticker book, or maybe cosmetic kit (hello kitty lotion, lip balm, etc...) kiddie cosmetics of course....

"It depends. If the child is girlish she may love a barbie or a hello kitty cosmetics kit, one of those "smart" dog robots that bark when told are very nice too. I would also consider buying her a dollhouse(if she has many dolls). But a gift comes from the heart, and children usually appreciate a gift anytime."

Need gift ideas for Muslim friends?...

...My husband is currently deployed overseas, and has a Islamic interpreter who has been so very helpful to my husband and I. He has recently given beautiful gifts to me and my husband and I would like to return the favor by sending him something unique and family oriented, but I do not want to overstep the boundaries of his Islamic faith. What would be a good gift idea to give to him and his family, without being offensive to his beliefs?

Please keep in mind I am sending this overseas, and it needs to travel well. Thank you!

"What a nice idea. I would say to just stay away from something that contains or concerns alcohol, pork, nudity, something too personal, Christian or Jewish themed items/tones, etc. If they have children, I would stay away from some of the BRATS, Barbie, and other types of dolls or overly violent games. I had once purchased a back-pack with Tinkerbell on it and I got a raised eyebrow from the mother until she realized it was a "Fairy." She had come across other Disney Characters, but not Tinkerbell. I have found that coloring books for children are good (unless they are Precious Moments). My friend's daughter also really liked My Little Pony.

Does the family include a small child and would like to send a Pooh Bear? Is there something unique from your hometown/country that would be special? Is there something that the family cant get, but would like? I once had my one friend beg me for an adapter that would allow his iPod to play over his car radio b/c he couldn't get anything from Apple in Iraq. He also asked for a hat from a local university.

I'm not sure if you are American or not, but some things that might be good would be a hand-made quilt or needlepoint, perhaps a hand-made shaker basket or other type of American made basket, perhaps some toys for the kids, what about an American cookbook with measuring cups and spoons? I gave a friend a Bundt Cake pan, a recipe book, and a mix; they seemed to like it. Perhaps some native American jewelry or the like. Is there something from your state that is specific? For example, Vermont has those great Maple Syrup hard candies. If they have small kids maybe a Winnie the Pooh or Mickey Mouse would be good. Also some Dr. Seuss books might be a cute idea.

Before you think about what would be appropriate, first think about what you would like to get the family. And then, think about would it be offensive. I have found that we are more similar than different.

Good luck!"

What's a good gift to give a friend's son who is graduating high school in two weeks?...

...I haven't seen my friend for 5 years or more but got an invitation to attend her son's graduation. They don't have any other family in the area so I will be the only guest attending and I'd like to bring a gift. But, what is a good gift idea that won't seem too much but will still be appreciated by an 18-year old boy?

"cash. gift cards.. something that anybody would find useful. kids are really picky so dont go for the clothes, or shoes or anything like that..=]"

I think I have the PERFECT fathers day gift... what do you think?...

...My husband recently got a job as an IT and is always having to get fast food on his lunch break bucause he can never get out for lunch durning the time the cafeiteria is open.

This is making an impact on our wallets and I would like to be able to cook him more meals. The fact he has to leave at 5 a.m. and lunch isn't almost till 2 p.m. makes me worry the food would taste pretty awful.

Anyway, here is my awesome idea. At www.thinkgeek.com there is a minifridge that duels over into a mini oven that gets up to 140 degrees.
Here is the link http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/gear/6ad2/

He is also a HUGE soda drinker so he could store his vaste amount of Pepsi in them! :P

Tell me what you think. I really want to lean to something more towards the office because he is so proud of the fact he has one.

Please and thank you everyone :D

"That really does sound perfect, and it proves that you are thinking about him and his needs. Good job!"

Need a Graduation Gift Idea for my wife 40 years old graduating with her Associates?...

...She has been going to school on and off for 22 years while raising our kids. Just finished her Associates, want to get her something meaningful, not fancy. Please help, I'm helpless.

"Congrats to her!

That's a tough one without knowing her - I have no idea what she would think is "meaningful."

How about something that you can engrave a nice sentiment on?

A watch? bracelet? piece of silver? leather bound journal?"
